Seminar 17. Essential Reliability Tools

by Mike Silverman, C.R.E.

This course will review the best Reliability Tools and Techniques being practiced today in a variety of different industries. HALT and HASS are fundamental building blocks, but even companies with well established HALT and HASS programs can benefit by using some of these additional reliability analysis and testing tools. These can greatly increase the effectiveness of your HALT and HASS program. Prior to performing HALT, analyses such as Reliability Predictions, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Derating Analysis will provide invaluable data for use during HALT to help find more issues faster with fewer samples. Plus after performing HALT, testing tools such as Reliability Demonstration Testing (RDT) and On-Going Reliability Testing (ORT) will be able to measure the MTBF of a product quicker and more accurately because of the margin information provided by HALT. And through-out the process, a robust Closed Loop Corrective Action System will tie everything together and assure that all issues are addressed and closed, no matter where in the process they are found.
